The Museum and Civil War Enlistment Center tell the story of life in Hartford in the 1800's and the story of Co.E of the 123rd NYSV during the Civil War. The Museum is to the public during the months of July and August on Saturdays 1 to 4 PM or call for an appointment. The Hartford Historical Group is chartered by New York State Dept. of Education to operate the museum. The purpose is to teach the history of Hartford, to select, preserve and exhibit historical records and preserve sites including cemeteries, monuments, markers and buildings. We work with any county or state historical associations, the Town Historian and Town Planning Board. The goals of the collection are to span the history of the region, represent domestic life, crafts, trades occupations and businesses of Hartford.
