Every spring, members of the New York State Maple Producers Association invite the public to visit their sugar houses and farms to learn about the unique tradition of maple production! During these special Maple Weekends, guests enjoy samples of authentic maple syrup, maple candy, pancake breakfasts, maple sugar house tours, horse wagon rides, and more.

New York State is home to the largest resource of tappable maple trees in the U.S. and over 2,000 maple sugarmakers!

From tap to the table, making maple syrup is often a hands-on process. And every year, Maple Weekends act as the culmination of all the hard work that goes into the maple products we enjoy year-round.

OUR MAPLE TRAIL

As the annual boil begins, many maple producers open their sugar houses to visitors so they can see the process. Be sure to contact the sugar shack you’re hoping to visit to ensure they’re open or to make any reservations. Many have also opened online shops and are shipping all over the country!

Grottoli’s Maple Sugar House, 91 Ritchie Road, Middle Granville

Pancake breakfast from 8 AM to 1 PM, with breakfast available (for purchase) and served with fresh maple syrup produced on-site.

Wild Hill Maple, 366 Carney Cassidy Road, Salem

A Kids’ Corner will offer fun and educational maple-related activities. Plus, a full range of maple products will be available for purchase, including their highly sought-after bourbon barrel–aged maple syrup.

Mapleland Farm, 647 Bunker Hill Road, Salem

Pancake breakfast 9 AM to 1 PM. Tours of the sugarbush, featuring an eight-stop educational trail until 4 PM. Learn about maple production and the farm’s forest management practices. These stewardship efforts earned the farm recognition from New York Audubon as a bird-friendly maple producer.

Rathbun’s Maple Sugar House, 1208 Hatch Road, Whitehall

Free horse-drawn wagon rides, maple-making demonstrations, handcrafted gifts, and self-guided tours of the sugar woods. Their full breakfast menu will be available (for purchase), and the gift shop will be open

Dry Brook Sugar House, 432 Chambers Road, Salem

Pancake breakfast 8 AM – 2 PM. Free horse-drawn wagon rides to see the wooded hillsides where the maple trees are tapped. Situated on a family farm, guests can also visit the friendly heifers and beef cattle.

Wild Hogs Sugar Shack at Maple Milk Farm, 1359 Shunpike Road, Cambridge

Games and activities for visitors of all ages, including a “waffle toss,” in which a spatula is used to try to toss a waffle into a bucket of sap. Visitors can also explore forestry and maple production by counting tree rings to learn about a tree’s life and the forest’s history.
