Washington County, New York is a diverse agriculture landscape made up of over 800 farmers across the county, from dairy farms that bottle their own milk to fields filled with lavender you never know what awaits you around ever turn.

Borden’s Apple Orchard, Easton NY

Begin your tour by visiting Borden’s Apple Orchard, currently operated by the 6th and 7th generation of farmers, this orchard has a long and delicious history in Washington County. With over 25 different varieties of apples available for you to take home all year long, any apple you select will be a perfect addition to your cheese plate. Don’t forget to grab some freshly made apple cider doughnuts for the road!

Betterbee, Greenwich NY

Operating on a farmstead that has been in operation since 1860, Argyle Cheese Farmer sits amongst the cow filled fields of Argyle’s dairy farms. During the week watch how the cheese, yogurt, and cheesecake are made from the farm store window, as you select from a variety of cheeses for your plate. For the drive home, pick up some fresh ice cream from Battenkill Valley Creamery, a dairy that has been operational since 1902. Since 2007, Battenkill Creamery has been bottling their farm fresh milk right there on their farm’s property. It doesn’t get much fresher than that!
