HENRY KNOX TRAIL REENACTMENT
WASHINGTON COUNTY LEG: DECEMBER 13, 2025 STARTING AT 9 AM

WALK IN HISTORY’S FOOTSTEPS
Join us in Fort Edward, NY, for a once-in-a-lifetime reenactment of the Henry Knox Trail! Step back in time to become part of the “Noble Train of Artillery” that Colonel Knox led from Crown Point to Boston in the winter of 1775 – 1776.
This brave act came to be known as one of the greatest feats of the American Revolution, turning the tides of the 10-month siege and bolstering the Continental Army’s ability to fight back against the British.
As part of America’s 250th celebration, counties throughout the Northeast have teamed up to celebrate the world-changing history that happened here!
Naturally, this includes Washington, Warren, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Albany, Essex, and Columbia Counties, which will each host their own celebrations as the multi-day reenactment travels along the Knox Trail through New York and Massachusetts.

Local students are making history!
To construct the historically inspired sleds for the December event, students from dozens of local school districts had a hand in the process. Conservation program students at the Southern Adirondack Education Center harvested and milled the lumber, which was then sent to the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs to be cut and constructed by students in the Construction Trades program.

KNOX TRAIL ROUTE
Join us in Fort Edward, NY for a once-in-a-lifetime reenactment of the Henry Knox Trail! Step back in time to become part of the “noble train of artillery” that Knox led from Crown Point to Boston in the winter of 1775.
The trail will begin at Fort Edward Jr./Sr. High School, then follow the old military road (now known as Route 4) to the Old Fort House Museum, where the Washington County leg will conclude with a wreath laying ceremony and an open house.
PLEASE NOTE: The artillery will be hauled by the sturdy steeds of the Washington County Draft Animal Association. They will join the procession near the intersection of Route 4 and Eddy St and continue to the Old Fort House Museum.

“This is more than a reenactment – it’s a celebration of community, education, and the enduring spirit of America. We want everyone to feel a part of this effort – veterans, students, families, local businesses and history enthusiasts alike.”
– Patrick Niles, event organizer and Co-Chair of the Washington County 250th Committee
